If your property was built prior to 1978 or was built with materials made before 1978 (or outside of the U.S.), then it is likely to contain materials with harmful asbestos. Federal, state and local (including OSHA) laws require that materials be inspected and tested prior to professional removal or disturbance; including but not limited to activities involving renovation, demolition or water / fire mitigation.

For decades, asbestos containing building materials (ACM) have been a major property concern for insurance carriers, residents, building owners / managers, tenants and employees. Health concerns include asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.

WHY CHOOSE ENVIROCHECK?

Every year ENVIROCHECK performs thousands of residential and commercial asbestos surveys for homeowners, property managers, real estate buyers / sellers, government municipalities, schools, hospitals, insurance companies, mitigation / construction companies and for litigation support. ENVIROCHECK employs consultants licensed by state and federal agencies for asbestos surveys, project design, and abatement clearances. We have an accredited in-house laboratory for asbestos analysis.

We help you make informed property decisions for your health, safety, and property value.

WHAT IS AN ENVIROCHECK
ASBESTOS PROPERTY SURVEY?

It involves a visual survey of suspect materials, notating location and condition of materials, and sample collection of materials in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines. Samples are submitted to an accredited laboratory for analysis. The results of the survey can lead to recommendations for proper removal, handling and management of asbestos containing materials. The inspections are documented in reports describing:

  • Background Scope
  • Sampling Methods
  • Laboratory Results
  • Summary Conclusions
  • Appendix of Terms
